Skydance Paramount Set to Eliminate Approximately 2,000 US Jobs – Update

Paramount Skydance will start large-scale job cuts during the week starting 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 positions in the United States within a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn under CEO David Ellison.

The workforce reduction follow the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August worth $8.4bn.

More overseas workforce reductions are likely, as the firm planning to announce all specifics via its third quarter earnings report scheduled for November 10.

Prior news suggested the company aimed to reduce between 2,000 to 3,000 positions before the start of November.

As of December 2024, the company employed about 18,600 permanent and temporary staff plus 3,500 contract workers.

Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond regarding the report.
